National Landscape Architecture Month at NBM

National Building Museum Events:
The National Building Museum is once again helping to spread the word about National Landscape Architecture Month by partnering with ASLA to present a series of lectures and tours throughout the month of April. One of the featured speakers is a well-known and innovative residential landscape architect.

Spotlight on Design: Steve Martino
Wednesday, April 26 6:30–8:00 PM
Landscape architect Steve Martino, FASLA, designs landscapes that demonstrate an understanding of the cultural significance and character of a site. He has pioneered the use of native and low-water plants, bold forms, and conservative use of water to achieve dramatic, lush, and livable landscapes that celebrate the desert. His Sonoran desert projects are known for introducing new technical innovations in design and horticultural practices. The principal of Phoenix-based Steve Martino & Associates will discuss the juxtaposition of man-made elements with natural ecological processes in projects including public art commissions, private gardens, and commercial projects.

This tidbit is found at the recent ASLA Online.
