2007 ASLA Annual Meeting

Residential Design is a Key Component of the ASLA Annual Meeting
Field sessions, tours, education programs, and awards focus on largest market sector.

Landscape architects specializing in residential design will find a lot to love at the 2007 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO, October 5–9 in San Francisco. Residential design will be a major highlight of field sessions, tours, education programs, and the annual awards programs.
Recognizing that more than 70 percent of ASLA firms offer residential design services, and numerous studies project tremendous growth in consumer demand, the Society called on leading experts and award winners in the field to create programming to meet the needs of residential practitioners. These experts will be on hand to serve as faculty and networking resources throughout the meeting.

Fascinating field sessions and tours
Part education session, part professional tour, 100 percent valuable. This year, an unprecedented seven field sessions and tours will highlight residential landscape architecture topics. These sessions are being planned and led by prominent designers who can provide a behind-the-scenes look at a number of extraordinary projects. Field session and tour space will be limited and require a ticket, so register now to purchase tickets to these great events.

Writer Seeks Great Backyard Gardens

Writer Barbara Ballinger has contacted our group in search of projects to feature in her next publication. See her letter in this posting.

Dear ASLA Members,
I am working on a special garden magazine for home owners and professionals;
it is the second "edition," and again to be titled "Backyard Ideas." It
will also again be sold nationally and published by Harris Publishing out of
New York City. I saw a lovely garden from your group in Metropolitan Home
magazine.
I am looking for wonderful residential gardens of all types: large, small;
rocky, flat; with water and without. Each garden submitted must come with two
high res color 300 dpi photos, 8" X 10" sent to me on a disk with a name for
identification purposes and to keep straight all the submissions.
I will then do an interview by phone with the landscape designer or
architect and the home owners if they want to speak; I am happy not to quote
homeowners by name if they prefer. We will also include a plant materials list and
all credits for garden design and photos. If the gardens have been used
elsewhere that's fine as long as not in my prior issue!
I look forward to seeing your submissions.
If you have any questions, please
call me at 314-692-9881, email me at _bbbuch@aol.com_
(mailto:bbbuch@aol.com) , or just send me your fabulous gardens. Let's talk before you send your
submissions, though if you want send them to me AFTER May 22 to Barbara
Ballinger, 30 Briarcliff, St. Louis , Mo. 63124 .
Thanks very much in advance.

Sincerely,
Barbara Ballinger
