ASLA Survey Highlights Trends

Landscape architects will bring the party in 2007, according to a recent ASLA trend survey posted at yubanet.com finding that people are calling for more fire pits and outdoor fireplaces. In general people seem to want to spend more time outside. Perhaps it's the suspiciously warm weather.
In that vein, prospective clients also seem more aware of climate change and possess the will to do their small part to help improve the environmental situation.Steve Martino, FASLA, of Phoenix - recipient of both the ASLA Design Medal and the ASLA Residential Design Award of Excellence in 2006 - says that clients are coming to him for "green solutions" for their homes.

Is this new? I thought this has been a trend for awhile now? I agree on the environmental part. Except, the average client is not willing to pay the high price or wait that extra period for a "green solution"
